Golfer's "Man Cave"

If winter's not for you and your "sticks" are itching to be swung I've got the "ultimate golfers man cave" to tell you about. Under the guise of needing storage I ordered a large shed for my back yard. I made sure the hip style roof was high enough to swing a driver of course. I did have to move one ceiling joist - but it's still standing.

First you need a structure for your cave - I used a shed, but you're ahead of the game if you have a basement, garage, or unused room in your house.

Second you need a golf net or netting. I hung a 10x10x10 golf cage net from the ceiling of my golf shed with PVC pipe and zip ties. If you have extra room you can suspend a 10x10 frame from the ceiling and hang the golf netting straight down from there. I've also had customers hang netting shower curtain style so that they can push it aside when not in use. I'm not big on pop-up nets as I've never had one that help up to serious golf practice.

Third you need quality golf mats. I've got the same type used by top teaching professionals and 2010 PGA Teacher of the year Mike Bender. The Turf is thick enough to take a real tee and you can swing down and through the ball for realistic practice - you don't bounce into the ball like typical golf mats.

So that's the bare minimum Structure, Golf Netting, and a Golf Mat. You can further accessories with a ball tray, putting green, heater, or the ultimate - a personal golf simulator.

So, if you've got cabin fever.... don't let it get you down, just turn that cabin into your own golf man cave.
