Do You Know the Difference Between Fish Oil VS Flax Seed Oil?

Today we are going to talk about the differences between fish oil vs flax seed oil. Now fish oil contains DHA docosahexanoic acid and EPA ecosapentaenoic acid the two most powerful forms of Omega-3. Now ALA or alpha linolenic acid is found in flax seed and is the third form of Omega-3 fatty acid, however it does not effect the body the same way DHA and EPA do.

Your body can convert DHA and EPA to ALA if my memory serves me correctly by dropping off two parts of the molecule. But the body does not do this in reverse.

The brain for example has twenty grams of DHA and as such uses quite a bit of DHA, how ever it does not use ALA, again the Omega-3 fish oil wins the debate over flax seed oil. The heart needs DHA and EPA to strengthen the heart in so many ways, but it does not appear to use ALA in the same amount.

For various reasons some people prefer flax seed oil over fish oil because they are vegans or vegetarians. They must obtain Omega-3 from some source and they will not use or eat fish or fish oil supplements. No doubt the flax seed oil has many benefits but for general health I think I will stick with Omega-3 fish oil vs flax seed oil.

Studies have shown that pregnant women who take an Omega-3 supplement on a daily basis have babies that have a better immune system and the children have far fewer allergy problems. They do not have the same amount of Allergies, Eczema or Asthma.

I have mentioned the brain but I have not mentioned the advantages of a high Omega-3 supplement on a daily basis. People with a high intake of DHA have less chance of having a severe bout of depression. You can obtain the DHA from eating several meals of fish per week. I talk about a Omega-3 supplement because you do not have to worry about contaminations like Mercury and PCBs and other nasty things found in fish. Visit my website today to find out about a fish oil supplement I've discovered that I'd like to share with you.
