What's the Peter Jackson Weight Loss Secret? Introducing the Skull Island Diet

What is the Peter Jackson weight loss secret? The image most of us have of the Lord of the Rings movie maker is a portly, bespectacled figure reminiscent of one of his Hobbit characters.

In a fact, film industry insiders and Jackson fans started noticing a new-look Peter Jackson nearly a year ago. But it's only now with all the publicity surrounding his soon-to-be released feature King Kong that the public at large have woken up to the slim, spectacle free version of the man and begun wondering about the Peter Jackson diet.

Cave

And it's not difficult to see why there's so much interest. The Peter Jackson weight loss has been impressive - he's shed some 70 pounds (32 kilograms).

So what's his diet secret?
Was it the South Beach Diet? The Cave Man Diet? The Atkins Diet?

Obesitycures.com did some research and discovered that Jackson did not follow any of the popular fad diets. The real secret to the Peter Jackson weight loss phenomenon has been dubbed the "Skull Island Diet," after the fictional island home of King Kong.

Jackson, bemused by all the attention his new image is receiving, insists a lifestyle change, rather than a diet is responsible for his weight loss.

"I just got tired of being overweight and unfit, so I changed my diet from hamburgers to yoghurt and muesli and it seems to work," Jackson told Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper.
Jackson reportedly followed no specific exercise program either, but has spoken several times of his punishing 21-hour-a-day work schedule on the King Kong set, which no doubt accounted for part of the weight loss.

Jackson said he was cutting during the day and shooting during the night for months on end, surviving on three hours' sleep. "I thought I was some kind of Superman, but it knackered me.''

And what of Jackson new-found spectacle-free status? No, unfortunately losing weight does not improve your eyesight. Jackson underwent laser eye surgery, explaining that he had grown "tired of being outside with rain and dust on the glasses".

Daily Dose of Omega3 - What's the Recommended Dose of Omega3 Per Day?

Wondering what the recommended daily dose of omega3 is?  This article discusses how much you should be consuming per day and the easiest ways of getting enough omega-3 fatty acids in your diet.

The average person is recommended to get a 650 mg dose of omega3 per day- DHA and EPA omega-3 that is.

Ala

DHA and EPA are the most important types of omega-3 fatty acids for humans.  They have the most benefits for human health and they are readily available to the body.

It's unfortunate, but most people only consume about one-fifth of this amount per day.  Since the primary source of DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids is fish, and most people don't eat fish daily, not many people get enough omega-3 fatty acids.

You can get omega-3 fatty acids from various plant sources like nuts, oil, fresh fruit and veggies, but these sources contain ALA omega-3 fatty acids.  ALA can be converted to EPA and DHA, but it's conversion process is very inefficient (about 0-9% success rate).

Now, many doctors and scientists are finding a connection between deficiencies in omega3s and many behavior problems.  Most people that have been diagnosed with conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, ADD, bipolar disorder, postpartum depression, and even Alzheimer's disease also have low amounts of omega3s in their body.  Clearly, this is because they never got the recommended dose of omega3 on a daily basis.

Omega-3 fatty acid deficiencies have also been linked to the rise in inflammation health conditions.  Inflammation is strongly influenced by the balance of omega3s and omega6s in the body, and the average person consumes about 17-24 times more omega6s than omega3s.

Clearly, most of us need to add to our daily routine a simple and easy way to consume the recommended dose of omega3 fatty acids daily.

Thankfully, the solution is simple: start taking a quality omega-3 fish oil supplement.  For less than a month, you can improve your health, keep your brain function at optimal levels, help prevent heart conditions, and fight inflammation on a daily basis.

It's recommended that you properly educate yourself first though about what to look for in a quality fish oil supplement before you pick a brand of supplements.  There are many poor ones out there, so making sure you get a good one will save you a lot of time, money, and frustration down the road.

Portable Bars - What's a Man Cave Without a Portable Bar?

Every good woman understands that a man needs just as much of an escape as they do. The only problem is that our idea of an escape is quite different than theirs. I personally don't like going to the mall for hours trying on shoes and clothes. I would rather go down to the man cave flip on my big screen pour myself a drink, kick back and crank up the surround sound.

caveman movie

The core of every man cave is of course the portable bar. The rest of your additions should be built around the core. It sets the stage for how sweet your man cave is actually gonna look. Imagine having your crew come over for a game, now imagine having your own bar, even better somebody tending your drinks for the entire game. Your cave needs to be the ultimate escape from the daily grind.

Cave

You should feel like your actually leaving your house every time you step into your cave. Believe it or not your other half will actually love the fact that you don't have to leave the house to have a good time. Portable bars even give your other half a reason to join the fun. She could even serve drinks for you, now of course you would want to make it fun for her, and let her know that that is your space.

She can put flowers and candles all over the house if she wants, but the only flower in the man cave will probably be the one on your Jimi Hendrix poster. Keep a full stock have your buddies chip in for game day and you will be the man. Kick back and enjoy life you earned it.

What's Your Home Garage Cave Factor?

What's the CAVE factor of your garage?

cave story

Real cave people might value some of this, but we're talking about the CAVE factor of home garages, rather than cave homes. CAVE stands for Cool, Appealing, Versatile, and Efficient. Together, these factors can represent a gauge and guideline for you to determine how you currently use your garage and how you could be using it.

Cave

Coolness

In this case, we're talking about creativity and uniqueness, not temperature. Of course, what's cool and how cool it is depends on who you ask, but it's not hard to agree if a home garage is cool or not. If you and the folks in your neighborhood all rated the cool factor of each other's garages, there'd only be a few that would really stand out. The majority of garages just aren't very cool because of neglect. One thing's certain though, the more time you spend in your garage, the cooler it becomes.

Appeal

Disregarding opinions of others, how appealing do you find your garage? This is a good question to ask yourself if you're fishing utilization ideas. A better question to ask is what would make it more appealing to you? Maybe you want to go with a theme, or a certain color and lighting scheme that appeals to you. Maybe you're just trying to get it organized, or whatever. The key is how you do it, and not necessarily what you do, and that, is the foundation of garage appeal.

Versatility

Versatility is typically the least explored of the bunch, although it's fair to say it's more important than the cool and appealing factors. So many garages are under-utilized and they have very little versatility, yet they can become more versatile relatively easily. Garage versatility is basically a reflection of its usefulness. Garages full of clutter aren't very useful because all they do is store stuff. However, versatile garages can have vehicle parking, a work area, maybe a game area, and plenty of clever storage solutions. Garage versatility is definitely something to ponder in your own garage.

Efficiency

If you've got hot summers and cold winters where you live, then you know how they cook and chill your garage. Attached garages can add to house cooling and heating bills, and detached garages can cost a bundle to keep warm. The absolute number one key to garage efficiency is insulation. Whether it's attic space, ceilings, walls, windows, or doors, heat works it's way in and out. Another attribute of efficiency is how well your garage is set up for what you do. How fast can you find what you're looking for? Better yet, how fast can you stow it away where it's easy to find again?

So that's the garage CAVE factor. Whether your garage is big, small, messy, or clean,
it already has it's own CAVE factor which is completely controlled by you. You can take the garage by its horns, or you can do nothing and watch it get worse with just little amounts of time.
