Knowing How Much Omega-3 Fatty Acids To Take Is Important For Good Health

Almost everyone these days has heard about the importance of omega 3 fatty acids and, therefore, want to know how much omega-3 to take on a daily basis.

There are several factors you must consider if you want to buy the best omega-3 supplement.

Ala

But, first, let's discuss the topic of how much omega-3 one needs to take on a daily basis.

Unfortunately, there is no set rule. The amount is going to be different if you are 30 years old than it would be if you are 65. It may also vary if you have a health condition.

For purposes of this article, we will simply give a ballpark figure of what you might want to take to maintain good health, assuming you are an adult with a reasonable degree of good health currently.

Before we discuss dosage, you should understand something important. It's not the amount you take that should be of first importance. Rather, it's the ratio of your omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acid intake.

The optimal ratio is 1:1. Most people nowadays in the Western world consume 20 times more omega 6's than omega 3's.

So, to start, you should reduce your consumption of omega 6 oils, as this unbalanced ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 can lead to numerous serious health disasters.

Here are sources high in omega 6's that you'll want to reduce before looking for the best omega-3 supplement: corn oil, sunflower and safflower oil, and soybean oil. Many people cook with these oils, so if you do too, substitute it for something else like olive oil.

Another thing to consider before you think about how much omega-3 oils to take is to know that there are three types of omega 3 fatty acids. There is DHA, EPA, and ALA.

ALA is the type found in plant sources, such as flaxseed and walnuts.

DHA and EPA are the type found in fish.

Fish sources are better because ALA from plant sources needs to be converted by the body into DHA and EPA and this conversion does not always take place efficiently.

Now, if you are wondering if you should just eat more fish or take a fish oil supplement, there is no contest. You should opt for the supplement -- as long as its high quality.

This is simply because most of the fish caught from the Ocean waters This is precisely why the FDA advocates a limited consumption of various types of fish -- because they contain dangerous toxins, like lead, PCB's, and mercury.

Farm raised fish is not much better because they are fed pellets, not their natural diet. It is their natural diet that is responsible for their high omega 3 fatty acid content. As such, farm raised fish are poor sources of omega 3's.

The best omega-3 supplement will be molecularly distilled fish oil high in DHA and EPA. Molecular distillation is a process by which the impurities are separated from the healthy oils, leaving only the good stuff and discarding the bad stuff.

Another distinction is that DHA omega 3 fats are the most important type, and have a greater impact on good health than EPA. As an example, about 60% of the human brain is comprised of fats, and approximately half of that is DHA!

Therefore, when you look at how much omega-3 is on the label of a high quality fish oil supplement, make sure you know the breakdown between DHA and EPA. They are not all the same, because different species of fish have different levels of these important fatty acids.

Having said all of this, a healthy adult should consider taking approximately 1,000 mg per day of omega 3 fatty acids, with more of that being DHA than EPA.

In summary, the best omega-3 supplement will be: a) made with a type of fish naturall high in DHA and EPA (with more DHA than EPA); will be molecularly distilled; and contain about 1,000 omega 3 fatty acids in total.

What is APA Format and Why is it Important?

Many book and scholarly journal editors as well as grant reviewers and others require that manuscripts they consider for publication be prepared in APA (American Psychological Association) format. This is true in many disciplines, by no means limited to psychology or even the broader social sciences. What is APA format? Why is it used in areas outside of psychology? And what do writers need to do in order to get their manuscripts into this format?

APA format is a standard set of conventions for formatting manuscripts. It contains detailed instructions for in-text citation references, references lists, pagination, margins, hierarchy of subheadings, running heads, etc. It has been adapted across a large number of disciplines (notably not including medical texts and journals, which have their own set of standardized conventions) for two reasons. First, there is a recognized need for standardization of these formatting parameters in order to make it easier for readers to be able to understand scholarly texts with the greatest possible ease and efficiency. Second, given this need, APA has developed an extremely thorough and comprehensive manual to accomplish this, and editors in other disciplines don't need to waste time reinventing the wheel by developing alternative parallel formats. In addition, APA is conscientious about periodically updating their format manual, for example to incorporate references to material found on the world wide web, which did not exist when the first version of the manual was published.

Ala

The APA format manual is lengthy and complex but well-indexed and very explicit. It can be purchased online from a variety of sources and is available at most university bookstores. Brief guides may also be purchased and found online through your favorite search engine using keywords 'APA formatting'.

Investing in your future by hiring an editor who is an expert in APA formatting as well as in the correct use of the English language can turn an average thesis into an excellent thesis. It pays to ensure that what many people consider to be one of the most important writings of their lives is of the highest quality possible.

Avoiding Capital Gains Tax On Real Estate - Some Important Tips

Real Estate is something that everybody wants, and invests in. One reason is to have your own house, and the other is to take advantage of a possible rise in real estate values. Both are subject to the laws regarding how it will be treated in real estate tax laws. Therefore, it is important to know something, if not everything about what are the tax laws governing real estate taxes. Of course, your tax consultant is the best person to brief you on this. This article skims over the surface of the tax laws. Remember your tax consultant is the right person to advise you.

Capital gains tax is not levied on the sale of your 'primary' residence, so long as you have declared it as your 'primary' residence. You must have lived in the house you sold for at least two years before you can claim it as your 'primary residence'.If your profit from the sale is not greater than $ 250,000, if you are a bachelor/spinster, and $ 500,000 if you are married. You pay capital gains tax on the balance of the amount over the limits specified above. To make it clear, let's say you are a bachelor and you sell your primary residence for $ 260,000. You will have to shell out capital gains tax on $ 10,000, which is exactly the difference between the limit fixed under law. If you are married, then you don't pay capital gains tax! Why because the limit above which capital gains tax is payable is $ 500,000. If the sale is above that price, you only pay, as shown, on the differential between the limit, and what you sold it for.

Esa

One can use the definition of primary residence to still make money on real estate, and not pay the capital gains tax.

You buy a house, and live in it for two years. That qualifies it as a primary residence. Meanwhile you let out your old house (where you stayed before for at least two years), for say two years, and you sell this old house within five years of shifting to your new home, which becomes your primary home in reality and then sell the old house, you would not have to pay the capital gains tax. Let us be clear. You stay in a house for 2 years, it becomes your primary residence. You move into another house,(now your primary residence after two years) and let out this old house for say another 2 years. As long as you sell the old house within 5 years of moving out, there is no capital gains tax to be paid. Read this very carefully.

One more way that provides you exemption from capital gains tax is that the sum for which you sold your real estate should be reinvested by purchasing another piece of real estate. This has to be done within two years of your selling the real estate you had earlier. In other words, the tax authorities want you to reinvest the money you made from real estate into another real estate property within two years of the sale of the real estate. Read this again please carefully.

Please do consult with a tax consultant. This article cannot be construed as a genuine construction of the law relating to real estate tax laws.

How Important is ALA Omega 3 for Health?

ALA omega 3 is a long-chain fatty acid required for many important functions of the body. Flax seed oil is a natural and rich source of ALA omega 3 fatty acid. Fish oil, on the other hand, contains the other two fatty acids which are short-chain counterparts of ALA and are know as DHA and EPA.

alarm system

All these fats are considered as good fats and are not found in adequate amounts in our body since the body is unable to manufacture its own fatty acids. In order to address this deficiency, doctors advise people with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis and mental illnesses to intake omega 3 fats in large amounts through diet and nutritional supplements.

Ala

DHA has been found to be important for the development of the baby's brain. In addition to this, it is also required for the protection of cell membranes. DHA along with other fatty acids helps in the prevention of many deadly diseases including cancer and Alzheimer's disease. These fats are good for pregnant women as they ensure healthy pregnancies and prevent birth defects and miscarriages.

Omega 3 fish oil supplements are becoming increasingly popular among people across the world because they are easy to consume and cause no side effects at all. In addition to this, these fish oil capsules are known to provide long-term health benefits. They contain ALA omega 3 in just the right amount as required by our body. Normally 1 or 2 capsules are enough for an otherwise healthy person to fulfill daily requirements of this fat.

Omega 3 fats reduce inflammation throughout the body and therefore they are recommended to people who suffer from inflammatory conditions like arthritis and cystitis. Oily and fatty fish like herring, salmon, sardines, hoki, mackerel, trout and tuna are mostly used in the making of fish oil supplements because they are high in omega 3 fats.

You need to know that in addition to essential fatty acids, pure fish oil also contains some impurities and contaminants that are harmful for long-term health. These impurities are bacteria, heavy metals like mercury, lead and arsenic, and toxins. It is therefore important to buy pharmaceutical grade fish oil which is first refined and purified and then packaged into capsules.

This high grade fish oil is free from impurities and is approved by health specialists after testing it thoroughly in the laboratory. It does not cause any side effects and is effective for people of all ages.
